We enjoyed a delightful day at Yola’s house on Grosse Isle last Saturday. Thanks to all for bringing yummy foods and yogic community.
Our June picnic will be held Saturday June 4th. Yola Johnson has volunteered her home on Grosse Ile for our location. Thank you so much Yola. While I know this will be a bit of a drive for some I encourage you all to car pool or call me if you need a ride or want to go with someone. We can all bring a dish to pass, our yoga mats and blankets and enjoy a hopefully beautiful day in community with our fellow yogi’s. Yola’s address is posted in the Tapas or in the Membership Directory on our webpage.
I have agreed to post the foods that people will be bringing for our pot luck lunch. Please email or call Char Vukonich @248-535-3101/ fitnessfan1@mac.com with your dish to pass so we can avoid duplicates:

Yoga Association of Greater Detroit would like to encourage all our teachers and friends to donate to the charity use the button above. We checked Charity Navigator and Direct Relief has a four-star rating. Direct Relief also has an obvious link for Ukraine so the donations go where you want them to go. I’m sure there are many charities out there.
Please donate what you can. As a yoga teacherm you could also donate your time to teach karma classes with all funds collected going directly to the charity, or encourage your students to donate directly. We can make a difference.
With much gratitude for Karen Lutz for this great idea.
Sincerely,
Charlene Vukonich, President of YAGD

Member Usha Shah gave us information about Acidity/GERD, its symptoms, and why it happens. She talked about ways to address these issues with yoga, mudra’s, and acupressure points. Really a excellent presentation.
Usha recorded the session and posted the link to it on her FB page at shashaholisticwellness.

The Studio
Located at 309 S Troy St. Royal Oak,MI.48067 and committed to providing Yoga that is all-inclusive.
Namaste has been the heart of Royal Oak for over 20 years. You do not have to be thin or flexible to practice. The poses meet you where you are, no matter where you are. You are your own guru, meaning you adapt the poses to your body. You don’t struggle to meet them; they rise to meet you. You affect a balance of comfort and strength, steadiness and ease. It doesn’t matter who you are, how you’re shaped, or your level of fitness. Yoga is an individualized practice, that you will tailor perfectly to fit you. As you change, yoga will continue to meet you where you are. https://namaste-yoga.net

I recieved a email about available space below:
Hello, I was inquiring if there were any instructors who might need space for their classes / practice in the downriver area? I have an indoor facility that would be great for a yoga class. We have 14000 sq ft.
Thank you
